Marriage Officials at Good Hope MCC

Good Hope Metropolitan Community Church (GHMCC) has four marriage officers that are registered with Home Affairs to perform civil unions.

Judith Kotzé is a qualified minister of the Dutch Reformed Church in South Africa, is Director at Inclusive and Affirming Ministries (IAM), dedicated to working with faith communities to become more inclusive and affirming of especially their Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered and Intersex (LGBTI) members. Judith did her master's degree in Theology focusing on dialogue as preferred method to deal with diversity and differences within faith communities and has applied it in moving towards inclusion and the celebration of diversity regarding sexual orientation. She is married to her partner and lives in Cape Town, South Africa.

Laurie Gaum grew up in the Boland and trained in theology at the University of Stellenbosch. He has worked in several churches, consulted with Inclusive and Affirming Ministries and mentored the Good Hope Metropolitan Community Church. He is based with the Centre for Christian Spirituality which focuses on contemplative spirituality and action for social change. He writes and presents workshops on gender reconciliation and masculinities. He is an activist and artist at heart who enjoys to craft textured dialogues and to design significant rituals.

Ecclesia de Lange is an Ordained Minister of the Methodist Church of SA who has worked in several churches in Gauteng and Western Cape. Ecclesia holds a Comprehensive Honour's degree in Theology from the University of Southern Africa (UNISA) and a Master's degree in Social Science from the University of Cape Town (UCT). Currently she is employed by Inclusive and Affirming Ministries (IAM) where she focuses on assisting faith communities to work towards inclusivity & to celebrate diversity.
