Triangle Project, a Cape Town-based gay and lesbian service organisation, seeks a dynamic, motivated, disciplined and focused individual with a tremendous ability to multi-task to fill the Media Coordinator position.

Position summary:

Reporting to the Director, the Media Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the communication and publicity strategy of the organisation, in particular

• Materials development (booklets, newsletters, radio ads, etc.)
• Media liaison (press releases, interviews, etc.)
• Updating and maintaining website content
• Monitoring and evaluation of all media (newspapers, TV and radio)
• Advertising and marketing of all events and products

Minimum qualifications, skills and experience required:

• A Bachelor degree or equivalent
• A minimum of three years of work experience in the media or communications field
• Sound knowledge and understanding of the issues facing the LGBTQI sector and a good understanding of gender and human rights sectors 
• Good interpersonal skills and planning and organisational skills
• Creative and independent thinker
• Proactive, sound judgement, good and the ability to remain calm under pressure; 
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines  
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken. 
• Solid knowledge and experience in the usage of computers and office software packages 
• Fluency in both spoken and written English and knowledge of local languages
