| As contentious as this title may be, it is a wonderful mirror for the homophobia of society. Nowhere is this prejudice seen more clearly than in the projection of heterosexuality onto God. “God made Adam and Eve, NOT Adam and Steve” is a typical mantra ... talk about making God in our image! The breakfast is organised by Labyrinth, a movement that facilitates spirituality for people who are not religious. In their various activities Labyrinth frequently encounters people who have been wounded by religious organisations which seem to be unaware of the extent to which their application of religion can damage people and undermine hope. One of the primary ways in which this hurt occurs is by declaring those who do not comply with restrictive definitions of “holy” as being “unholy”. Labyrinth rejects the notion that to be outside of one understanding of sacred means that a person is outside of the presence of the divine
